Child Sailing a Topper

Jumbles has an active Junior Section that runs activities and sessions throughout the year.

Late Night Sessions

From late April to the middle of July we have Late Nights sessions. These run after school on a weekday and provide a fun stress-free environment to unwind and have fun after a busy day. We have RYA trained instructors present at all these events who run fun training activities to help our Juniors improve their skills. For more information on our Late Nights Sessions click here.

Improver and Race Training Sessions

During winter and spring, we run Improver and Race training sessions. These sessions are run on Saturdays and are aimed at those who want to improve their skills and/or get into racing. For more information on our Improver and Race Training Sessions click here.

Other Junior Activites

We also run a Junior Series throughout the year that runs at the same time as the 2nd race on Sundays. These are shorter races that are usually 30 minutes long and provide a brilliant stepping stone between casual sailing and Racing.

Jumbles also runs powerboat courses for those aged 10+, for more information on our powerboat courses click here.

External Activites

As well as the above activities run by the club many of our Juniors also attend external sailing events such as the North West Junior Traveller Series (NWJTS). The travellers take place at multiple clubs around the north-west and are exclusively for those aged under 18. They provide a brilliant environment to build racing experience with larger fleets and socialise with other sailors from other clubs.

We are also proud that many of our Juniors are members of the Lancashire Youth Sailing group (LYS). This group represents Lancashire at many national sailing events and is brilliant for those who wish to become more competitive sailors. More information about them can be found here.
